It’s been three weeks since bringing Brewster home and I couldn’t be more in love! He is the most cuddly, expressive and loving puppy I’ve ever met and every day I’m so grateful he gets to live with me. Get ready for a lot of dog-friendly hiking content.
I’ve gotten a ton of questions about Brewster so here’s the rundown!
Where is he from?
Brewster came on our show to help promote Soul Dog Rescue’s upcoming Gala. I was finishing a weather tease when I heard puppies were in the studio. He was half asleep when I scooped him up with his little half/half eyes. He proceeded to sleep through the entire segment and I applied for him that day! He came from a reservation in New Mexico with his 8 brothers and sisters. Sadly, one of his siblings didn’t make it but the rest all found great homes and helped highlight how important the work is that Soul Dog does.
What is he?
Great question. We’re not entirely sure but the best guess is Heeler mixed with Dachshund! He’s definitely going to be on the smaller side, only about 15 lbs when I brought him home but he’s for sure a big dog at heart.
Where is his name from?
Brewster is a town on Cape Cod! All of my dogs growing up had names with ties to the Cape, where my family is from so when Brewster came to mind I loved it. I also love that people get excited it’s like a Brewery Dog or Coffee brewing pup. It fits him!
