I couldn’t be more excited to finally share I’m headed to Fox31 as their new Weekday Morning Meteorologist! I’ll be on every morning bringing you the weather from 4:30am – 10 am and again at 11am. This is a dream a decade in the making and I’m still pinching myself that it’s real. I can’t wait to get started and wake up every morning doing what I love. Other than the channel, not a lot will be changing, I’ll still be updating Approachable Outdoors and sharing your hiking pictures on Fox31! My first day will be April 26 and then you’ll see me on air starting May 3rd – See you soon!
These last few years I’ve met the most incredible people while working at 9News, my colleagues quickly became some of my best friends and lifelines as I went through a lot of life changes. I also got to check off some pretty cool career bucket list items.
In those three years I got to immerse myself in the fabulous Denver restaurant community, getting to know and share the stories behind the food the we love. I fulfilled a lifelong dream when I started the “Unpretentious Theater Review” with my fellow former-theater kid, Liz Kotalik. Not many people get a chance to work on a show with their best friends and I had it over and over again: Steve Staeger, Liz Kotalik, Alli Levigne and most recently, Anusha Roy & Jordan Chavez – How lucky am I? I also got to work with a weather team I’d admired and looked up to for years. When I showed up to work in tears after a breakup, Kathy Sabine was the first to wrap me in a hug and consistently make sure I had snacks, treats and wine to mend my broken heart.
I also got to know and love a community beyond the walls of the station. I’m still in awe every time someone tags me in a hike that they tried after I shared it and love every single picture I’m tagged in! Every single one of your dogs and babies in snow pictures has made me smile – please keep those coming, I love watching your kiddos grow up! I had no idea that speaking out about my mental health would spark the response it did, almost every day I have messages from people sharing their own stories. The ones that hit my heart the most are the parents who are learning to understand what their kids are going through. You guys are incredible.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your wonderful notes – I promise I’m trying to respond to every one as soon as I can! And thank you for following along on this next adventure!
