What a gorgeous hike! This is so perfect for a quick, approachable hike close to Denver. Only 3 miles round trip and there are just enough steep  parts to make it feel like a workout, but not to difficult that families couldn’t enjoy it.

You start with views of Red Rocks and then the higher you climb you start to see Denver come into view!

What’s nice about this hike compared to others like Red Rocks/Morrison Slide Trail, there’s some shade! As you’re getting back into Mount Falcon Park you get a bit of a break from the sun through the trees and a few glimpses of the snowcapped mountains behind the park.

Parking is free in the lot and dogs are allowed on leash.

    Mental Health Check In

I haven’t talked about mental health publicly in a while and it’s for a couple of reasons. The first is actually pretty wonderful: this is the best I’ve felt mentally in years. I feel like after years of turbulence my life feels settled, stable and full of purpose....

    My First Guided Hike

    My First Guided Hike

I usually find my hikes on AllTrails or through recomendations from friends and had never been on a guided hike before but the  YMCA of the Rockies offers a guided hike for free when you're staying there. One of the best parts was that I didn't have to worry about...

    My Little Edible Balcony Garden

My Little Edible Balcony Garden I have always talked about having an herb & vegetable garden, but I’ve also exclusively lived in apartments for the last decade so it hasn’t been much of an option. I’d look up cute ideas to have a balcony garden, but never...
