This hike is great for beginners and out of town visitors or if you’re just looking for a quick, beautiful trail that’s close to Denver! You get to walk along and on top of the famous Red Rock formations and take in views of foothills along this 1.5 mile loop.
Parking is easy and free at the Trading Post lot then you can choose to start by heading up to Ship Rock Road or down around the Trading Post. I wouldn’t say one way is easier than the other, either way you’re going to have a little incline at the end. While there is some walking on the Red Rocks, I’ve always been fine doing this hike with just regular sneakers.
I’ve seen deer on this hike a couple of times and if you hike during late spring you’ll even get treated to a few wildflowers – Enjoy!
