Boulder is always a favorite for hiking, but Chautauqua and Mt. Sanitas are always so busy so this is a great option if you’re looking to escape the bulk of the crowds. The trailhead is nestled right in the neighborhood with free parking along the street.

The worst of the incline is right at the beginning so don’t be discouraged! Take a few breaks and enjoy the views of the valley below, it’s especially beautiful during fall when the colors are changing.

Once you’re in the woods the trail system does become a little more complicated so I usually follow along on the AllTrails Map but it is well marked so you can follow the signs for Kohler Trail and then eventually Mesa trail. This trail doesn’t quite have the views that Chautauqua has, but it has shade & a few good glimpses of the valley!

This trail is kind of a loop but mostly an out & back, once you hit the Mesa trail you can go as far as you’d like (it even connects with the NCAR trails) before you turn around. We went about 2 miles to make it an even 4 miles round trip!

Dogs are allowed on leash!

Weekend in Snowmass, Colorado

Weekend in Frisco, Colorado

I almost hate to tell anyone about Frisco because it's one of my favorite towns in Colorado and I feel like it's a little overlooked by visitors coming in for the resort towns nearby. Located just off I-70 nestled in between the mountains and Lake Dillon, it's the...

What Hiking Boots Should I Wear?

What Hiking Boots Should I Wear?

Finding the right pair of hiking boots can be a challenge. Everyone's feet are different so what works well for one person may not for another. I've worn $400 boots that hurt my feet terribly and $30 outlet boots that I wore until there were literal holes. I...

3 Hikes You Must Do In Maui
