I can’t say enough good things to say about this trail! It has both incredible views of some of the most impressive mountains in the Front Range and a stellar look over the Front Range. Plus it’s not too difficult, most of the trail is meandering without too much elevation gain until the final push to the summit.
There’s no official parking lot for this trail, so grab a spot on the side of the road and the trailhead is easy to spot. The path is well-defined and easy to follow with trail markers along the way making it easy to find your way.
My favorite part of this trail is that you’ll be walking along through the trees then all of a sudden you get a glimpse of the views between the branches. Most of the trail is very approachable with very little elevation gain, but the final push to the mountain summit will definitely get your heart racing and muscles burning. It’s pretty steep but it lasts less than .15 of a mile so you’re at the top before you know it!
At the top there’s a really cool placard at the very top that points out one of the many mountains you can spot from the summit!
