I know I say this all the time – but I have a new favorite hike! Incredible views, waterfalls – this hike has it all! That said, you work for those views because the first mile is a very steep uphill climb on rocky terrain. After about a mile and a half (and nearly 2,000 ft in elevation gain) you’re rewarded with a couple miles of relatively flat trail at the top with nonstop views.
Then the last mile goes back downhill to take you to Walker Ranch and the river/falls. You can continue on from here to other trails within the park, but to do the 7.4 mile out & back like I did, this is where we turned around after enjoying the beauty of the falls in winter!

Eldorado Canyon is $10 to enter, dogs are allowed on leash.
We did this hike in early December and there were a few icy spots, my boots (Altra Lone Peaks) did fine but my friends didn’t and she definitely wished she had spikes.
